Meritan, Inc. and Apelah, Inc. have provided critical health and social services for vulnerable populations in the community since 1961. During this unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic, we will continue to serve our clients with compassionate and quality care while ensuring the safety and health of the client, their families, and our staff.

Following recommendations from the CDC (Center for Disease Control), we have taken the following precautions to minimize the risk of COVID-19 exposure to our clients and staff:

  • Implemented practices so that staff may work remotely from home and virtually with clients when possible.

  • Limiting who may enter agency buildings with newly established staff and visitor screening guidelines.

  • Canceled in-person meetings and events and moved to virtual meetings when possible.

  • Established guidelines to pre-screen client home visits to reduce the risk of COVID-19 exposure to clients and staff.

We want to assure all our clients, foster families, and patients that we will continue our services through this event. Meritan receives daily updates from state and federal agencies including the CDC, the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services, and the Department of Health. Staff will continue to monitor these updates, follow recommendations, and revise our procedures as necessary.
