Brenda Dary is a family caregiver for her cousin. She hired Meritan for her cousin for our in-home personal care services in 2007. Brenda’s cousin, who is 88 years old, is bedridden, feeds through a feeding tube, legally blind, and is non-verbal. Brenda and her cousin have had a positive experience with her professional home care specialists.

Beverly, her current professional caregiver, works in their home and helps her cousin with daily activities, such as bathing and bathroom functions, feeding, grooming, taking medication, and some housework. Beverly goes above and beyond and stays with Brenda’s cousin when Brenda has to run off.

Beverly has been amazing and great. Brenda stated, “It is great to have someone to be there while you lay down. Meritan has provided a wonderful experience for my cousin and me.”

She also stated, “It is great to have someone sit with her and talk to her, wash her hair, clean, massage her, make her bed, run errands, pick up her medicine, and help her get around.”

Brenda mentioned that her cousin enjoys Beverly’s company. They listen to the radio together, and Beverly truly cares for her.

When asking about what does Brenda feels about the benefits of hiring a professional caregiver, she mentioned that she is able to go to the grocery store and run personal errands without having to worry about her loved one. Having a professional caregiver is truly beneficial to her emotional, mental, and physical well-being.

When asking about her professional caregiver, Beverly, Brenda shared, “She’s professional. I ask for advice about my cousin. What should I do for her? Beverly is no stranger when you come into my home. She is my sister and friend. I truly feel comfortable being able to leave my cousin home with her. These days you cannot leave her with just anyone. I trust her.”
