Are You Considering In-Home Personal Care for Your Loved One?

How do you know when it is time to hire a professional caregiver to help your parents at home? Your parents or your loved ones will probably not be the ones to tell you that they need help, so here are some signs to watch out for.

  1. Observe their physical and mental state. If you see rapid weight loss or even early signs of dementia, it may be time for you to find extra support.

  2. Self-neglect is a type of elder abuse even though there is not a perpetrator involved. For example, you could see your loved ones house dirty or may smell a bad odor.

  3. Are they capable of performing “Daily Living” activities on their own? For example, does your loved one need help with cooking, taking a shower, cleaning, taking his/her medications, and etc.?

If you see any of these signs, it may be time to consider in-home personal caregiver.

There are many benefits to finding extra support for you or your loved one.

  1. Relief for family members and prevent caregiver fatigue.

  2. Provide emotional, mental, and physical support for YOU and your loved ones.

  3. Assist with medication reminders and other “Daily Living” activities such as bathing, cleaning, cooking, etc.

  4. Observe new health conditions and prevent fall-related injuries.
