Meritan's Caring Award

The Meritan Caring Award is an award presented to a caregiver and staff member who has exhibited outstanding courage and love to the individual(s) in their care, who currently works at Meritan. This award recognizes a special individual who is an outstanding, personable, caring, and dedicated staff member. Nominations for this award must come from a Meritan program manager. The Meritan Caring Award was presented at Meritan’s virtual MASKquerade Ball on November 21, 2020.

Chezita has a special needs client who is non-verbal and bedridden. It takes a special person to care for the disabled and elderly population. Chezita takes the time to interact with her clients. The client's mother said Chezita cooks the client's eggs just the way he likes it. Chezita does what she can to brighten her clients' day. Chezita is in tune with the client's medical condition, and knows when the client is in pain or not feeling his best.

Chezita is dedicated to providing the best services for her clients. She is consistently striving to find new and effective ways to train her colleagues on how to become successful at Apelah. Chezita trains her colleagues on how to perform personal care duties in the client's home, and how to complete tasks in Extended Reach and Paycom. She works weekends and evening shifts when needed to ensure every client's needs are met. She is willing to do what she can to be of benefit to her clients, colleagues, and the community. Chezita Stewart has been employed with Apelah for eight months. Thank you Chezita for your dedication to your clients, other employees, and to our agency’s mission.
