We are on the Front Lines of COVID-19!

Shelby County, TN began their phase 1 rollout of COVID vaccinations during the first week of January 2021. These COVID vaccinations were for allotted direct health care workers, first responders, and other select groups.

Meritan staff went above and beyond to help administer Phase 1 of the COVID-19 vaccine. We would like to thank everyone that worked and volunteered to help with the vaccination effort. Hundreds of hours were worked, and thousands were vaccinated. Our home health nurses stepped up, filled the second shift from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm at one location for all 7 days, and helped with the other location as well.

Many Meritan employees, board members, and volunteers helped in the parking lot and drive-through areas. We even had some of our staff’s spouses and adult children volunteer to help in this effort. In addition, a Meritan board member, Laurel Reisman, an RN volunteered and also reached out to her network recruiting other volunteers. Our medical director, Dr. David Weber, his business partner Dr. English and his wife, who is an RN, helped out, Community nurses, pharmacists, and dentists also assisted in the vaccinations. Everyone tapped into their networks, and it was an amazing team effort.

Because of our staff and many community medical professionals, we are helping to slow and stop the COVID-19 pandemic.
