Secondary education in America is a right, not a privilege. On December 10, 2015, President Barrack Obama reauthorized the law. This act was a reauthorization of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA), which came into existence in the mid-1960s under the leadership of President Lyndon Johnson. Meet Scott Walkup, Meritan's Board Member

Meet our Board Member, Scott Walkup. He works for the Memphis and Shelby County Division of Planning & Development as the Administrator for the Shelby County Department of Housing. The Department provides critical affordable housing resources including down payment assistance loans, lead-based paint hazard reduction services and housing rehabilitation, financing for affordable housing development and support for large scale community initiatives like Resilient Shelby.
